Baton Rouge, Louisiana artist NBA YoungBoy inked a record deal with Atlantic Records according to Kollegekid. Born Kentrell Gaulden, NBA Youngboy has made a name for himself in the music industry. In the result of that, he is one of the fastest emerging artists coming out of the state.
Youngboy’s attorney, James Manasseh, revealed that news of the rapper’s deal on Thursday following his court hearing for an aggravated assault charge.
Manasseh said outside the courtroom that Youngboy has a contract with Atlantic Records for five albums. He has delivered one so far under the contract already, it was the rapper’s second album of his career. They presume that project to be was “AI Youngboy.” His deal is allegedly worth two million dollars.
After the courts dismissed a 10 year sentence for the alleged charge, he was placed on a three year active supervised probation Tuesday for his role in a November 2016 drive-by shooting, the New Orleans Advocate reports.
